Ross Video Introduces Two New Multi-Definition GearLite Products at NAB 2004

Ottawa, Ontario – March 2, 2004. Ross Video today announced two new additions to its highly successful GearLite product line. These products are part of the company’s commitment to the rapidly growing interest in Multi-Definition products, which are designed to operate simultaneously on both standard definition and highdefinition video signals, and complement the company’s recently announced Synergy MD series of Multi- Definition production switchers.

The SRA-9201 is a Multi-Definition SDI Reclocking Distribution Amplifier, which is ideal for use in the distribution of all serial digital video signals. Packaged in Ross’ robust GearLite “brick” format, this versatile amplifier is the perfect solution for general distribution or when cleaning up SDI signals after long cable runs. For facilities migrating from standard-definition SDI to high-definition HD-SDI signals, the SRA-9201 can be installed in the middle of long cable runs which have become too long for reliable video signal distribution.

The DAC-9213 is a Multi-Definition SDI to Analog Component Monitoring Amplifier, which can convert any standard definition (SDI) or high-definition (HD-SDI) signal into a component analog signal for monitoring purposes. This product expands the company’s very successful line of GearLite SDI monitoring products which are often paired with existing analog input monitors to view SDI and HD-SDI video signals. A unique feature of the DAC-9213 is a mounting option which allows the product to be installed directly in the option slots of Sony PVM series monitors, eliminating external power and mounting requirements.

These new products are part of the Ross GearLite product line, which cover virtually forms of digital video and audio distribution and conversion needs.

Ross has also recently announced price reductions on several of their RossGear modular products. With a list price of $995, the dual channel ADC-8035 is the industry’s lowest cost per channel analog composite to SDI converter. With broadcast quality 10-bit processing, a 3 line adaptive comb decoder, and built-in proc amp, the ADC-8035 is ideal for facilities faced with the conversion of existing analog products to the SDI digital world. Ross has also reduced their price on their SEA-8003 Serial Equalizing Amplifier, offering high-quality, low cost distribution of SDI signals for $239.

Ross is also announcing a revolutionary new series of analog video amplifiers. The VEA-7001A and VEA-7007A Equalizing Amplifiers solve the industry’s long-standing difficulty of supporting multiple cable types. These are the industry’s only video equalizing amplifiers with built-in, jumper selectable support for many popular cable types. Click here to read more about the new Gearlite MD products.
