Ross Video Wins NAB Award for Innovation in Media

IROQUOIS, ONTARIO - April 23, 2003. Ross Video today announced that it was awarded one of the first NAB Awards for Innovation in Media (AIMs), an annual technology awards program launched for the first time at NAB 2003. As one of the five companies receiving the highest number of attendees votes in the Content Creation category, Ross Video received AIM recognition for its Squeeze & Tease Warp 3D DVE option for Synergy digital production switchers on Wednesday, April 9 at the NAB Technology Luncheon held at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

"The NAB extends its sincere congratulations to the 2003 AIM winners," said NAB President and CEO Edward O. Fritts. "The NAB Exhibition is the leading source of new product announcements in the global broadcast technology marketplace. Given that hundreds of new products are launched at NAB each year, this recognition is truly an honor. We're thankful for all of the attendees who took time to recognize the companies who are setting the pace in electronic media technology."

"Ross is rapidly becoming known for cool practical technology," said David Ross, Executive Vice President and Synergy Product Manager. "Receiving an award from our customers, and potential customers, confirms that our new S&T Warp is both 'cool' and 'practical'."

Squeeze & Tease WARP is the latest in built-in switcher digital effects from Ross Video available for the Synergy 100, 1, 2, 3 & 4 digital production switchers. S&T WARP is a dual channel, 10-bit, fully loaded 3D DVE. Features, include new WARP effects such as page turn, ripple, wave, mirror, swirl, melt, twist, slats, spheres, lenses, organics and many more. A fully positionable light source with advanced features such as ambient lighting and auto follow mode makes a great looking lighting effect easy. The new on-board dual channel 30 - 512 frame (image size dependent) still store allows you to load in graphics and have them available in S&T at a moment's notice (up to 8 channels of still store are available on a Synergy 4). The preprocessing engine provides defocus, mosaic, posterization, colorization and strobe. A full selection of built-in "picture frame" effect borders add impact to over-the-shoulder boxes, interview boxes or slabs. Full keyframe sequence timelines and nested transformations allow complex effects to be easily programmed and then quickly recalled. The object builder is very effective in creating slab effects.
