Iroquois, ON, Canada – March 13, 2006 – Ross Video announced today National Mobile Television (NMT) has invested in RossGear Terminal Equipment for the new HD-11, 53’, Full Expando Production Truck that will be on display at NAB.
The HD-11 Production Truck will be using RossGear for replay source distribution, transmission paths, program distribution, signal flow, utility AES distribution, and AES delays to ease productions use of legacy sources. Some of the analog audio distribution is used for signal flow and feeds inside the truck, with the bulk of the distribution being utility in nature and fed mostly from the router and mixing desk.
”We chose RossGear products because of the dependability, they are simple and unencumbered by an excessive feature set, the price/performance ratio is more than acceptable, AES and SD video mounting frames are interchangeable, and cards can be mixed within the frames,” said John Kemps, VP of Engineering, NMT. “Ross seems to produce virtually all the flavors of cards we currently require with little exceptions.”
The Truck is designed to set up quickly, giving it the ability to work single day events easily. There are several unique design elements used throughout the new HD-11 Truck. NMT Production Trucks have covered many high profile news, sports and entertainment events.
“We are delighted NMT has chosen RossGear terminal equipment for their new HD Truck,” said Brad Rochon, RossGear Product Manager, Ross Video. “We look forward to continuing our relationship with NMT and to provide solutions for their future production needs.”
RossGear Frame-based products are housed in 1RU and 2RU rack-mounted frames, and feature a wide selection of terminal equipment. Servicing both the digital and analog worlds, RossGear frames support video and audio modules, have integrated cooling, universal power supplies, and offer redundant power for critical 24/7 operations. Ross Video will be launching openGear, a new concept in broadcast terminal equipment at NAB.
