Iroquois, ON, Canada – January 17, 2006 – Ross Video announced today the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) has invested in a Synergy 1 Digital Production Switcher, NK Router, and RossGear to advance equipment used in the lab to train students in the Broadcast Technology program.

“We have had a long term relationship with Ross Video and have an enormous amount of respect for their products, service, and support,” said Wayne Watson, Team Leader, Broadcast Technology program, SAIT. “We needed to upgrade the lab with new equipment and Ross offered the right products at the right price. The company has always been very supportive of our efforts and many of our graduates have found employment at Ross.”

The Society of Broadcast Engineers has certified the SAIT Broadcast Technology program as an educational institution offering technical training in broadcast engineering or related fields. The 2-year in-depth program prepares students for employment in the installation, maintenance, setup and repair of electronic and computer related equipment in the broadcast industry. It is the only program of its kind in Canada and one of a few in North America.

The Synergy SD series of Digital Production Switchers are multi-purpose switchers used to work in virtually any live production environment. Applications include: live to air broadcast studio, editing suite, sports truck and special events. The comprehensive control capabilities of the Synergy 1 allow for an integrated control room approach, tying in devices from other manufacturers.
