compact modular control system

sideCar is a compact soft-button control panel that connects directly to any OverDrive remote client PC offering operators direct control of rundowns, OverDrive QuickRecalls and CustomControls, media playout, camera robotics and audio levels. Multiple sideCar systems can be connected to a networked OverDrive configuration allowing rundown, robotic camera and audio control from different operating stations at one time.

sideCar integrates 3 tactile modules into one control surface:

sideControl
The sideControl module offers 24 multi-color LCD buttons that can be configured by the user in several different modes replicating features found in the OverDrive RundownControl and DirectControl applications. With sideControl, the operator can easily manage rundowns, CustomControls, QuickRecalls and external production devices while bringing late breaking stories and ‘on-the-fly’ events to air quickly and error-free.

sideRobo
The sideRobo module is used to select and recall preset robotic camera positions, including Pan, Tilt, Zoom and Elevator settings on supported control systems. On supported systems with a lens interface, the operator has direct control of iris and focus. sideRobo integrates with the DirectControl device GUI and includes jog /shuttle control of server clips.

sideMix8
The sideMix8 module includes 8 flying faders with mnemonic display for direct control of program audio. The 8 faders represent the program audio for the current on-air shot. Additional features such as mute, default level, and lock channel can be selected directly from the module.

sideCar is the ideal control interface for maximum production flexibility and device management on your OverDrive Automated Production Control System.

sideCar comes complete with an AC power adapter, power cord and RS232 control cable for connection to an OverDrive client PC.
