Crosspoint PushButton Inserts

Once you've installed the inputs and alpha signals, you'll want to label the crosspoint pushbutton switches to identify the inputs on your switcher.  The following “Synergy 100 Crosspoint Pushbutton Inserts” PDF files, Standard and Custom, have been provided for you to easily make your own designation labels that insert under the lens caps.  Simply print out on transparency sheets, cut to size, and install.  Work directly from the website or download to your computer.

Printing Instructions
The files are designed to laser print on standard 8.5” x 11” (Letter size) overhead transparency sheets.  Be careful to print in portrait orientation without any scaling, resizing, or “fit to page” options; the files have been created to precisely match dimensions of the lens caps and should be printed at original size for best results. 

Standard Inserts
To print a “standard” set of commonly used broadcast industry labels use the following two-page file.  Many designation options are included.  If a designation that you require has not been included on a certain film and is a type likely to be needed by other switcher users, Ross Video would be pleased to consider adding it to the standard film.

Custom Inserts
To create your own "custom" designation inserts, use the following PDF file.  It contains three sizes of active form fields that automatically center and format whatever information you type.  Simply type your designations in the appropriate form fields (choose from single, double, or triple lines of text) and then click the “Print” button.

Tips:  You can easily navigate forwards through the form fields using your keyboard “Tab” key.  “Shift” + “Tab” navigates backwards.  Pressing “Esc” and then “Tab” returns field selection to the beginning of the form.  Using the “Caps Lock” key when typing will give your labels a consistent style with the rest of the switcher inserts.

Cutting Inserts
For best results when cutting out the pushbutton inserts use a sharp X-Acto knife, a steel-edged ruler, and a cutting board recommended for this purpose.  Please use caution when using a sharp knife close to your fingertips.

Installation Instructions
All inserts are easily installed under the lens caps.

Tip: A Lens Cap Remover is supplied in the Installation Kit.

Use the following steps to install all control panel pushbutton inserts.  Use the diagram below for reference.

1. Cut out the designation film inserts for the primary input pushbuttons.
2. Remove the lens assembly from the primary input switch by pulling straight upward on the lens cap.
3. Remove the lens cap from the key cap and place the desired input designation under the lens cap.

Please note
• When reinstalling the lens assembly, align the locking tab on the key cap with the alignment tab of the lens cap, and then with the locating slots in the primary input switch in the panel. Otherwise, the lens cap may pop off when the switch is pressed and released.
• The designation film must read correctly with the lens alignment tabs at the top and bottom, not at the sides.
• Perform this procedure for all buttons on each bus on your switcher.
