The video processing circuitry is cooled by a set of fans using side-to-side airflow. The fans are speed controlled by multiple temperature sensors within the frame.
The control panel is convection cooled (no fans) for silent control room operation.

Synergy MD-X comes standard with 16 inputs and additional inputs are purchased in groups of 16.
Inputs can be used for either key or video.
The reference input is selectable, analog black for Standard Definition operation, and the recommended tri-level sync for High Definition operation.
The reference input is a looping, non-terminated input.

EDH is inserted into all MLE outputs and can be disabled. Aux Bus outputs do not have EDH insertion but do pass previously inserted EDH. (SD Video Mode)
Line CRCs are inserted into all MLE outputs and can be disabled. Aux Bus outputs do not have line CRCs inserted but do pass previously inserted line CRCs. (HD Video Mode)
