Interface Communications is a full service television production company serving the needs of worldwide broadcast and corporate organizations. We operate Hybrid SNG/EFP vehicles for the purpose of multi-camera production and transmission of live and/or taped events.

In our line of work there is no real “typical” day. Everyday brings on a different challenge since we produce and provide technical support for our clients. Our range of work varies from fashion shows to concerts, town hall meetings to election coverage, and all types of sporting events from professional arena to street tournaments. Acting as the backbone for all of these productions is our Ross Synergy 3 digital production switcher.

Upon deciding that we wanted to field a new Hybrid SNG/EFP unit, we began the search for a digital production switcher that would be both easy to use and maintain, as well as flexible enough to handle the various production challenges that would be encountered on an everyday basis.

A production switcher with a significant growth path was desired - something that would be able to grow along with our needs. Another important factor in choosing a switcher was operator familiarity (we are frequently encountering new TDs encompassing many different production applications) - we needed a switcher that would be very easy to learn in a short time frame.

Ross’ Synergy 3 was the only production switcher that fit all of those requirements. We originally started with 2 MLEs active on our switcher and when the time came, upgraded to 3 MLEs. This is our first Ross production switcher and we are extremely impressed with the flexibility of some of our Synergy’s features and options. Custom Controls give us the ability to recall sequences and effects with a single button push, and the ever-growing power of the Squeeze & Tease 3D  internal DVE has not stopped being invaluable.

We were the first in our market to utilize a Synergy 3, (3 MLE) switcher in a mobile production application and many of our staff and clients have been immensely pleased with its capabilities. Ross has developed a switcher that costs significantly less than its competitors, without compromising their product quality or our program quality. Our production unit has been on the road for over two years with Synergy and has been virtually maintenance free.

With regards to the maintenance and service of our switcher, I have to add in that Ross’ customer service is the best - second to none. We have had a few issues with our product, but anytime we’ve had to call in, Ross’ tech support has been great - the best. I don’t want to name names because it’s not just one guy... you can even call in and speak to the owner.

All of our digital backbone, from our production switcher to the digital up / down conversion, is provided by Ross.
