Introducing TouchDrive

TouchDrive redefines the relationship between a Technical Director/Vision Mixer and their switcher by bringing the same touch technology you know and love from your smartphone to video production switchers – even gestures. Every display on the control panel is touch-enabled, allowing features to be dropped right under the fingertips of the operator.

After Nigel and Les opened the webinar with a deep-dive into all of the new panel features, David joined the discussion and explained that “When I saw how this new panel was progressing, I got really excited and asked Nigel and Les if I could re-join the switcher team and lead the development of TouchDrive”. David adds that “the inspiration for the panels came from smartphone technology and I think the touch-enabled panels open up new possibilities of what an operator can achieve on control surface”.

The high-resolution, rich color touch displays on the TouchDrive panels provide clear visual cues to make source and device control faster. Operators can configure bus maps, assign button functions, delegate key buses or select the next transition type with absolute confidence.

“We brought in our new UX software team to focus on the look and feel of all of the touch screens. So not only do we have all these beautiful icons and fonts, but at the top the displays, you see color coded menus” adds David.

TouchDrive is an incredibly powerful panel and also includes a built-in DashBoard computer, which enables integrated control for various Ross products such as XPression, Tria+ clips and switch Ultrix.
From the ultra-portable TD1C to the uncompromising TD3S, TouchDrive comes in five different panel sizes so you can choose the right fit for your budget and production requirement.
