This groundbreaking arena, inaugurated in March 2018, is the first-ever dedicated esports arena on the Strip, spanning 30,000 square feet and equipped with a 50-foot LED wall, a cutting-edge broadcast center, and an advanced production studio. Since its inception, HyperX Esports Arena has swiftly emerged as a global mecca for esports enthusiasts, teams, and streamers alike.

The Challenge

In the pursuit of delivering extraordinary experiences to gamers and fans, Allied Esports faced significant challenges with their initial content delivery workflow for the LED walls, entryway dome, and player pods. The existing solution not only suffered from inadequate low-latency video delivery to the screens but also led to a convoluted workflow that hindered the production quality. A unique and streamlined solution was imperative to elevate their content production and uphold their commitment to unparalleled audience engagement.

The Solution

To address these challenges, Allied Esports partnered with Ross to revolutionize their content delivery workflow. The collaboration began by integrating a series of Ross products in the front-of-house design, comprising of a Carbonite production switcher, XPression Studio for traditional character graphics, a Mira+ replay system, and an Ultrix router. These cornerstone production control room products became an integral part of the new workflow.

On the LED side, the decision was made to adopt Ross Video’s cutting-edge LED Control system, culminating in a unified solution at HyperX Arena. The implementation of XPression Tessera facilitated pixel-accurate real-time content rendering for all LED screens. Custom DashBoard panels were designed to efficiently drive the “Hype Tunnel” LED lighting system, the 50-ft LED wall, and the entryway LED Dome. Through DashBoard, all of these displays can be synchronized with a press of a button.

We are a premier content and arena facility. Our idea is to bring games to the world, and part of what powers that is all this Ross Technology that we have in our building.

The Impact

By consolidating production control room technology with LED display technology into a single integrated workflow, the HyperX production team experienced a marked improvement in operational efficiency on multiple fronts. The Ross Unified Venue Control Solution empowered the HyperX team to manage multiple LED displays seamlessly, control third-party devices, including video processors, LED lighting, and audio systems, and achieve comprehensive control over their entire production process. As a result, HyperX Esports Arena now delivers an incredibly immersive live event experience for fans.

“When I first got here, we had completely different systems in the building. We were constantly running into difficulties and delays. Switching over to Ross, it made things ten times easier.”
