Ross Video signs the largest contribution agreement to a Canadian business in NRC IRAP history

Ottawa, Canada, August 15th 2019 – Ross Video is delighted to announce that the company is being awarded up to CA$5 million in research and development project funding by the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC IRAP). This funding is in recognition of Ross Video’s focus on innovation and will be used to provide a catalyst for further growth. The funding has been made possible as a result of the Government of Canada’s 2018 budget decision to provide NRC IRAP with an additional $700 million over a five-year period to help more businesses across the country innovate.  This enables NRC IRAP to increase its maximum contribution threshold for eligible projects from $1 million to $10 million. The award to Ross Video represents IRAP’s largest contribution agreement to date to a Canadian business.

The award was announced on August 15th, 2019 during a ceremony at the Ross Video campus in Ottawa.

Ross Video’s senior executives, and R&D staff, assembled with distinguished guests from the NRC, to witness David Ross, Ross Video CEO, Mr. Iain Stewart, President of the NRC, David Lisk, Vice President of NRC IRAP, and Grégory Fruchet, Industrial Technology Advisor, NRC IRAP make the announcement.

David Ross is quick to praise the Canadian Government’s support of technology companies and innovators. “Canada has a proud history of technological innovation and the Canadian government has helped domestic companies expand on to the global stage through progressive initiatives such as NRC IRAP. We’re very pleased to receive this funding which will bolster our R&D function, create jobs and allow us to engineer the next generation of technologies for the global broadcast and live production markets. Its effects will be felt well beyond Canadian shores.”
