Trans Video Communications Advances New Studio with Ross OverDrive

Iroquois, ON Canada – February 11, 2009 – Trans Video Communications based in Brooklyn, New York has invested in the OverDrive Automated Production Control System and Ross Vision 2 QMD Multi-Definition Production Switcher for a news style magazine to air on NET (New Evangelization Television), a faith based network that offers a diverse array of entertainment programming for all ages.

Formerly the Prayer Channel, NET launched in December, 2008. NET continues with the same values and goals appealing to a wider audience with a new look and programming. Trans Video Communications has completely renovated their old building in Brooklyn and designed a new studio that will be used for various productions. The company also provides programming for 3 other channels used by educators in Catholic schools throughout the region.

“The goal was to change programming, go digital, and get a fresh new look. As we investigated the technology for a classic designed control room we saw the benefits of automated production control technology and how it would allow us to do more with less. We’re a small non-profit station and we don’t have the resources to support a traditional control room with 6 to 8 people for 4 to 6 hours programming,” said Juan Morales, Director of Engineering, Trans Video Communications. “OverDrive and Vision are customizable to our needs, gives flexibility to change while on air, has a low learning curve, and fits with our control room design. We compared and reviewed with Broadcaster Integrated Services and Ross was the best choice.”

The team responsible for the new studio build include: Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio, Diocese of Brooklyn, Fr. Kieran Harrington, Vicar for Communications, Christopher Quinn, General Manager, Juan Morales, NET – Director of Engineering, Kevin Cianciulli, NET-Chief Engineer, Joseph Policastro, Broadcaster Integrated Services, Systems Integrator. Installation is expected to be complete and the new studio ready for production by spring of 2009. NET can be viewed on Cable Networks – Time Warner 97 and Cablevision 30. The NET website is a portal to the NET Programming at www.netny.net.

“NET is a perfect example of how OverDrive can benefit a smaller facility looking to optimize their production capabilities by enabling them to offer their clients high-quality, yet cost-effective programming,” said Brad Rochon, Marketing Product Manager, OverDrive.
