Ross Video’s Carbonite eXtreme Wins “STAR” Award From Editors of TV Technology

Thursday, April 11, 2013 [Las Vegas, NV, USA] – Carbonite eXtreme manufactured by Ross Video is the recipient of the 2013 STAR (Superior Technology Award Recipient) Award presented by the editorial staff of TV Technology magazine at the 2013 NAB Show.

TVTechnology Star Award 2012Now celebrating its 13th anniversary, TV Technology’s STAR Award is designed to honor and showcase the outstanding technological innovations available to the broadcast industry. A panel of judges consisting of TV Technology editors, columnists and industry experts reviewed a variety of products, examined the technical applications and their overall contribution to the industry, and then submitted their award nominees.

“The NAB Show serves as the launching pad for thousands of new products and services for audio and video professionals,” said Tom Butts, TV Technology Editor-in-Chief. “Our panel of judges walk the show floor in search of the most innovative technologies. The products and services that we select for the STAR Award make the cut, demonstrating their ability to help advance the acquisition and distribution of entertainment and information across the media spectrum.”

“Since we have both production switchers and routing we thought, what the heck, let’s combine the two,” commented David Ross, CEO, Ross Video. “The result is amazing for customers as a super efficient production and routing package in one unit.”

Carbonite eXtreme is the game changing combination of production switching and routing in one combined chassis.  The secret to Carbonite Extreme is that the production switcher is embedded in the heart of the routing matrix.  Traditionally routing, production switching, multi-viewers, up/down conversion, frame syncing and interconnecting distribution were all separate pieces.  Now, Carbonite eXtreme collapses all this into one powerful combined package.  Up to 2 Carbonite Production Matrices can be added to the Carbonite eXtreme Chassis providing two independent production systems in one.  At the same time, Carbonite eXtreme fulfills the roll of a facility router with a full 144×144 switching matrix that can feed your entire production plant or mobile truck.

TV Technology is the industry’s leading magazine for technology news and reviews and is celebrating its 30th year covering the television industry. The magazine is published by NewBay Media LLC, the world’s largest publisher of audio and video publications.
