ONLINE XPression Freelance Operator Training

Introduction to DashBoard

About this event

Join Ross Video and learn the basics of operating XPression – the broadcast industry’s fastest growing real-time motion graphics platform. In this one day course, a Ross Trainer will introduce you to the key features and functions a live Graphics Operator will need in order to use DashBoard and XPression.

Introduction to DashBoard

  • Introduction to DashBoard
  • How to use XPression DataLinq™ to connect with DashBoard
  • Create a blank, self-contained Dashboard panel for XPression, configure it to talk with XPression software and create Style Attributes in Dashboard
  • Utilize RossTalk to add buttons to DashBoard panels to control XPression
  • Add Clock and Score buttons to a DashBoard panel, using XPression DataLinq™ to put the DashBoard values into the XPression Scoreboard
  • Learn how to configure an XPression Countdown Widget in DashBoard
  • Look at the DashBoard API to control the XPression Sequencer from DashBoard

*Prerequisite: Since this course material builds on the knowledge of creating XPression scenes, Scene Directors and Animation Controllers; students must have already completed the XPression Basic Operator Course or be able to demonstrate proficiency in design and operation of XPression. Given the class size and the online format of the course, individualized instruction for basic operations may not be feasible, as the instructor is focused on guiding the entire class through the exploration of advanced functions in XPression.

Additional Information

In preparation for the training, we encourage you to review the following tutorial videos, which can be found on the Ross Video XPression U site.

In addition to the training, each student will receive a one year license to a trial edition of XPression Designer, the offline creation edition of XPression. This version is not capable of outputting live video, but it will render graphics to a pixel accurate watermarked virtual output on your VGA screen. This will allow you to work with XPression at home to continue learning XPression after the class is done.
