NEP Australia Selects Ross Video as Key IP Technology Partner

November 23, 2017 – Ottawa – Today, Ross Video, the leader in smart production, announced that NEP Australia, leading provider of outsourced broadcast solutions, has selected Ross Video as a key technology partner to support the company’s shift to an all IP-enabled production infrastructure based on the SMPTE ST-2110 standard for video over IP. NEP has purchased multiple AIMS-compliant solutions from Ross Video including the recently announced NewtTM, a family of point-of-use IP signal converters.

NEP Australia is transitioning from an SDI to an all-IP infrastructure for outside broadcast and live production from two IP-enabled centralized production hubs in Sydney and Melbourne that allow for remote Software Defined Production (SDP). “Even for broadcasters like NEP that are fully committed to building an all-IP infrastructure, this is not an overnight transition”, said Nestor Amaya, Director of IP Solutions and Infrastructure Product Marketing, Ross Video. “We are pleased to work with NEP to deliver future-proof solutions at their network edge that flexibly address their signal conversion needs with Software Defined Production.”

Newt features open control, working in a wide range of environments with Ross DashBoard, NMOS IS-04/IS-05, EmBER+/RAVENNA, and a published JSON API for custom integrations. “Initially, it was the ability to seamlessly integrate with our existing control system, VSM, that attracted us to Ross. Then we collaborated to create a solution to effectively drive our video monitors, and Newt was born,” stated Marc Segar, Director of Technology, NEP Australia. “It is this outstanding commitment to interoperability and collaboration that makes Ross such a great partner to work with as we continue on our journey to a fully ST-2110 compliant IP video network.”
