Carbonite Ultra Production Switcher: Now in Full Production

Ottawa, Canada, 29^th January 2019 – Ross Video is pleased to announce that following a limited manufacturing run for specific customers and partners last month, the new Carbonite Ultra production switcher is now in full production and available to customers worldwide.

Carbonite has consistently been the world’s most popular mid-size production switcher family since its launch. The new Carbonite Ultra, introduced at IBC 2018, uses the latest FPGA technology and distills the best elements of the Carbonite series into a single, next generation platform that is more powerful, more compact and more affordable than ever before.

Within an entirely-new 1RU chassis, Carbonite Ultra provides 24-inputs, 14-outputs and an improved version of the flexible Carbonite feature set – at a remarkable starting price of only $10,900 (USD). Built on Ross Video’s software-defined production philosophy, Carbonite Ultra is an incredibly versatile piece of hardware that can easily adapt to a variety of production applications. Carbonite Ultra is configurable with 1-3 MEs, a complete I/O signal-processing toolkit and comprehensive MultiViewer monitoring resources.

Carbonite Ultra ships with V1.0 software, but there is much more to come. Carbonite Ultra’s hardware platform is built with 240% more processing power than the original Carbonite, providing plenty of space for the feature-rich software roadmap ahead. Carbonite Ultra’s next software release will unlock 12G/UHD support for systems with the 2ME license.
