Ross Video and Grass Valley Team up to Integrate GV STRATUS into Inception News
Thursday, April 14th, 2016 [Ottawa, Ontario, Canada] – Today, Ross Video announces their collaboration with Grass Valley to fully integrate the GV STRATUS video production and content management system into Inception News, Ross’ browser based newsroom content and editorial system that places social media integration right into the center of news production. Together, they will deliver a unified workflow with editorial content tied directly to media content.
Grass Valley works closely with third-party newsroom computer systems to streamline the workflow process for mutual customers. The integration into Inception News will include playout with GV STRATUS Rundown, which will follow Inception’s broadcast running order. This gives users the ability to edit using any major nonlinear editing software including EDIUS, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut and or Avid NewsCutter/Media Composer. This integration will provide an error free broadcast workflow capable of changing as the news changes, even when the program is already on the air.
“The newsroom is a very dynamic environment, with content coming from a lot of sources,” explained Mike Cronk, Senior Vice President of Strategic Marketing, Grass Valley. “It’s critically important that these systems talk to each other so that producers can easily bring it all together to tell the news stories in a compelling, comprehensive way. The integration of GV STRATUS with Inception News makes it possible for newsroom staff to bring more automation to the workflow while also staying flexible to address changes as they happen.”
“Creating content should be easy. We want to streamline the content creation process by integrating all of the systems and platforms journalists use,” stated Shawn Snider, Director of Inception at Ross Video. “By adding access to GV STRATUS into Inception, we’re taking another step towards that goal.”
