Ross Video Breaks the Automated Production Price Barrier with the Integration of OverDrive and Carbonite at IBC

Friday, September 12th, 2014 [Amsterdam, The Netherlands] – Today, Ross Video announces the integration of two market leading products, their OverDrive Automated Production Control System and Carbonite Production Switcher Series. This integration makes automated production available to many more price sensitive customers given the dramatically lower cost of a Carbonite system versus larger production switchers.

OverDrive Carbonite Integration“We’ve had customer requests for some time to integrate OverDrive with Carbonite so that the benefits of automated production can be enjoyed without requiring a large, expensive production switcher,” says Scott Bowditch, Marketing Product Manager, OverDrive. “The combination of OverDrive with Carbonite creates a high-end production automation solution for a mid-market price that is unmatched in the market today.”

With many thousands in the field, Carbonite is the world’s best-selling mid-sized production switcher, while OverDrive is number one in automated production control (APC).  Recent developments in both products make their hotly desired integration possible.  Carbonite’s new, feature-packed version 10 software release expands the system from 2 MEs to 2.5 MEs – the ideal size for automated production. While OverDrive Caprica a new version of OverDrive that extends control to Carbonite as well as production switchers from other companies.

“Carbonite has long offered the “sweet spot” in manually operated live production,” notes Nigel Spratling, Marketing Product Manager, Production Switchers. “Now it extends that claim to automated production. To all those customers that have asked us about integration of these products over the past couple of years – the answer is now yes!”

Ross will be showing OverDrive Caprica with Carbonite at IBC 2014 in hall 9, stand C.10.
