Ross Video Getting In-Touch with XPression

Friday, September 12th, 2014 [Amsterdam, The Netherlands] – Today, Ross Video announces a new addition to the XPression product line at IBC 2014 with XPression Touch Factory, an intuitive tool that allows television producers to build interactive touchscreen presentations using dazzling real-time 3D graphics from Ross XPression. Built with partner, Coiron Visual Developers, Touch Factory’s ease-of-use eliminates the need for expensive IT resources to program new touchscreen graphics.
“The beauty of Touch Factory is that it was designed from the beginning to be accessible to both operators and designers, much like XPression itself,” says Brian Olson, Director of Marketing Product Management for XPression at Ross Video. “Users build XPression graphics just like they would for any other application, apply a basic naming schema for objects, and then load the scene into Touch Factory. Then the available objects, hot spots, and animations show up in the interface and using a standardized hierarchy, much like DVD authoring, they build their show.”
Once the presentation is built, Touch Factory becomes a Player by switching from programming to play mode. Full control is now via the user-supplied touchscreen interface. Touch Factory Player is a cost-effective software application that plays back presentations in a “read-only” fashion for facilities that require multiple touchscreens but only have one person authoring. In addition, for live data the XPression Datalinq Server delivers the latest updates to targeted XPression fields inside the presentation from virtually any data source. There is also a Remote Control option to use a separate tablet to control playback for talent that doesn’t want to turn their back to the audience and a second channel option for dual-monitor configurations.
