One of the world’s leading asset managers runs its European headquarters right in the heart of London. Like many global companies, they were facing a challenge: how best to engage with employees, clients, and stakeholders in the face of rising demands for live video events and business communications.
Their live video production workload was increasing, but their video production technology had not kept up. Town halls, client briefings, internal updates — people were now comparing them to what they see on television. The flex-spaces in the London office simply were not set up for that. They needed rooms that could quickly switch between different uses, and AV systems that anyone could operate confidently. At the same time, the AV and IT teams were expected to guarantee smooth, polished events even when they could not be in the room.
It was clear the company needed a proper upgrade — not just to optimize communications internally, but also to turn their live event space into a multi-use venue that is also worthy of hosting high-profile external events.
For Peter Dunne, the company’s Head of Global AV, choosing the right partner was straightforward. With a background in broadcast, he already knew Ross Video and had relied on Ross switchers for years. Ross’s track record and reputation for reliability made the decision even easier.
Right from the start, this partnership felt like not simply another supplier or licensing agreement. When issues arose in the final stages of integration that could cause delays, the Ross crew pitched in and even patched cables themselves to keep the project moving ahead to deliver the video production capabilities on time. That level of commitment set the tone for the entire installation.
The main auditorium was struggling to meet expectations.
The core equipment had not kept pace with modern production standards. Video switching was limited. Graphics had to be built and triggered on separate systems. Audio required manual workarounds. Nothing was fully integrated. Even simple changes meant extra cables, extra gear, and extra stress.
The room itself was difficult to adapt. Sightlines were tight. Control positions were temporary. There was no true, permanent production workflow. Each event — whether it was a town hall, product launch, or executive presentation — felt like starting from scratch.
As a result, every show required outside help. Four or five freelancers were brought in just to cover the basics.
For a space that hosted regular internal events, this was not sustainable.
The impact was clear.
The auditorium was underused because it felt complicated and expensive to operate. Teams avoided booking it unless absolutely necessary. And when it was used, the production budget spiked — day rates, last-minute rentals, and overtime costs quickly added up.
Instead of being a strategic communication asset, the auditorium had become a cost center.
The control room has been refurbished with Ultrix, Carbonite, TouchDrive, XPression Tessera, Tria, and Dashboard. This enabled the crew to benefit from a seamless and efficient production process. The control room now has more flexibility in terms of functionality. The facility can be utilized either as one bigger hall or divided into two rooms. Three LED walls were installed in this facility to ensure everything displayed has high resolution.
The biggest improvement came from automation.
With Ross Dashboard, switching, graphics, and playout all came together in one simple interface. Instead of needing five operators, the team could now run events with just two in-house AV staff — and the quality improved.
Productions became smoother, more repeatable, and much easier for the internal team to manage without relying on big freelance crews.
The transformation was immediate.
The updated auditorium went from being a cost centre to a genuine revenue-generating space. The company now hosts everything from client events to industry award ceremonies — right in their own London office.
Operational efficiency increased. With fewer freelancers required, the AV crew could allocate more time to producing high-quality content rather than coordinating logistics and the need of increasing budget for production resources.
Events now look and feel like professional broadcast productions. Internal town halls have a noticeable lift in quality, and client-facing events have a more polished, consistent feel. With automated workflows in place, the AV and IT teams can rely on everything running smoothly.
Senior leadership quickly labelled the new space a flagship success.
The company was so pleased with the results that they now act as a reference site, regularly welcoming other organizations that want to see what a modern Ross-powered corporate space can achieve.
The company was so pleased with this result and is now a reference site for Live event video production. The company has frequently opened its doors to other companies interested in seeing what can be accomplished in a Ross-powered corporate AV setting.
The success in London sparked a much bigger vision. The company is now building a global strategy to roll out the same approach across multiple regions. The next phase includes four remote studios, each equipped with Carbonite Ultra, all feeding into a central gallery in London powered by Ultrix.
This will allow teams around the world to maintain the same high standard of production quality — no matter where the event originates.
They are also getting creative by exploring a Voyager-based green screen studio—think of it as a virtual set that opens huge possibilities for immersive, data-rich presentations and production.
This project clearly demonstrates what can be achieved when a company makes a genuine commitment to video communication and works alongside a partner that genuinely appreciates both world-class broadcast standards and the essential realities of the corporate AV environment.
The auditorium, which was previously underutilized, has been transformed into a highly effective space that now generates revenue, hosts broadcast-quality events, and establishes the definitive benchmark for their subsequent global rollout.
Following the notable success here in London, the company is now gearing up to implement a connected network of studios across the world. Crucially, this entire network will be managed centrally, right here from the UK.
Ross Video provides the necessary expertise, the robust, scalable technology stack, the automation capabilities, and the reliable support. When these elements are combined, they afford organizations the confidence and assurance required to host more live events, deliver them to a markedly higher standard, and achieve the same dependable, professional results consistently, irrespective of their global location.
