Routing Control
Ultricore

Integrated, Powerful Control
Great hardware is only as good as the control system behind it. Ultricore BCS is a fully featured connectivity and orchestration platform built for today’s media processing workflows. It manages expansive, distributed infrastructures with thousands of streams, endpoints, and processing paths, bringing them together under a single, operator-friendly control layer.
Whether working with SDI, ST 2110, NDI, or hybrid environments, Ultricore BCS orchestrates Ultrix and third-party systems alike, making every transport type appear the same to operators. It streamlines setup, delivers intuitive and powerful control, and ensures even the most complex multi-format systems run efficiently with 24/7/365 broadcast-grade reliability.
Feature Rich
System discovery, database creation, HW/SW panel configuration all done from one UI.
Easy Systemization
Native routing control support for Probel SW-P-08, GVG Native, NV9000, and TSL 3.1, 4.0, and 5.0 for Multiviewer tally makes Ultricore powered systems easy to work with 3rd party control and automation.
Integrated Design
Use same routing workflows regardless of transport to enable easier integration in hybrid operations – SAME logical configuration – SAME control surfaces – SAME operator confidence.
Features
Ultricore & Advanced Control
The industry is going through rapid change with new signal standards and network topologies. It is critical that even with these changes the ease and reliability of workflows is maintained. Ultricore BCS is built on decades of experience in optimizing and understanding user workflows and has been designed to harness the best of these emerging technologies. The result is a powerful, scalable, control system that is easy use and can grow as your needs evolve.
- Expands Ultricore BCS to include control of both ST 2110 and NDI streams
- Automatically discovers and registers IP streams/endpoints into the Ultricore BCS database for easy management
- Makes sources and destinations available seamlessly across SDI, ST 2110, and NDI domains
- Delivers consistent workflows across any supported transport, streamlining hybrid operations
- Optional Tie-Line Manager license for Ultricore-BCS
- Supports shortest-available, multi-hop automatic path finding
- Works in conjunction with Ultrix-IP / Ultricore-IP to route SDI or IP Video seamlessly
- Allows tie-lines between all supported router types (Ultrix, NK, supported 3rd party matrices)
- Connect between sites or expand system I/O
- Simple, DashBoard based tie-line configuration and status/monitoring GUI (table based)
Ultricore Tally is a tally control solution deployed in Ultricore BCS via software license. Built on the proven foundation of Image Video’s TSI-4000, Ultricore Tally ensures reliable and efficient coordination with unprecedented flexibility.
- Integrates with a wide range of protocols and devices, both Ross and third-party.
- Adds value to existing Ultrix systems utilizing Ultricore BCS, or operates just as well as a standalone tally controller. One license enables tally on a single or redundant pair of Ultricore BCS units.
- Leverages the selection of Ross tally accessories like GPIO expansion products, providing customization options to fit your specific workflow requirements.

When is Ultricore BCS Required?
Ultrix FR1, FR2 and FR5 router frames ship standard with the complete version of the Ultricore control system within the frame. System configuration and discovery, database editor, salvo editor, and customizable software panels are all included. This integrated version is great for small systems, as it does not require the use of a central controller.
For larger or more sophisticated systems (including all Ultrix-FR12 frames), the Ultricore BCS 2RU central controller provides support for larger routing databases, greater client connections as well as enhanced control and connectivity capabilities. Ultricore BCS allows you to scale your control to include multiple frames, tielines, IP routing, and distributed routing systems.

System Connection Basics
There are many ways to build the connectivity of a routing system. Included here are some of the more common system designs that are used for building Ultrix systems. These layouts are not exhaustive, but are meant to provide guidelines to follow when configuring a system. Please contact us for more information on specific system designs.
