Ross Announces DashBoard Version 8 Featuring Visual Logic Production Release

Friday, April 15, 2016 [Ottawa, Ontario, Canada] – Ross Video is pleased to announce a new release of its DashBoard Facility Control System – Version 8 featuring Visual Logic.
“DashBoard version 8 was released to Beta at IBC in September 2015, and at NAB we are releasing the production version,” stated Greg Quirk, Ross Video Product Manager for DashBoard. “Over the past few months we have received great traction from end users who have been able to create feature rich, intelligent DashBoard CustomPanels using Visual Logic instead of writing Java Script.”
Creating DashBoard CustomPanels is accomplished using drag and drop functionality. Ross, openGear partner and DashBoard Connect partner products can be added to the list of devices that populate a set of API commands. These commands can be dropped into the Visual Logic interface and augmented with control functions and interconnected and configured visually to determine order of operation and input variables. This removes the complexity of remembering specific syntax, which can make panels difficult for a non-coder to create.
“Sophisticated DashBoard CustomPanels can now be created by anyone without requiring a software development background,” continued Quirk. “This is truly a game changer in how customers can control devices and create customized workflows for their operators easily, greatly increasing their productivity and influence of control on their systems.”
DashBoard is used by customers worldwide to monitor and control Ross solutions, openGear partner products, DashBoard Connect Products and 3rd party IP-based devices in a variety of applications and markets.
