Ross Introduces Next Legislative Control System

Wednesday, April 13^th, 2016 [Ottawa, Ontario, Canada] – Ross Video is please to announce the fourth version of the Ross Legislative Control System (LCS).  Already the most feature-rich Legislative system available, Ross’ dedicated team continues to add important new capabilities to further improve production quality and efficiency in legislative environments. LCS Version 4 is in Beta release today with production release mid summer.

“The Ross Legislative Solution has gone through dramatic improvements over the past year with new features driven by customer feedback,” said Greg Quirk, Ross Video Product Manager for Legislative Solutions. “We’ve simplified the user interface while adding production capabaility.  For example, we found that a single lower third graphic was not sufficient to cover the many different graphical requirements for assembly meetings so we added control of any type of Ross XPression graphic directly in the Legislative Control System interface.”

In addition to providing additional graphic control, LCS V4 now works with different models of XPression Graphics hardware. Previously to get graphics on program and preview a legislature required a dual-channel XPression system. The latest version uses a virtual output from XPression that is overlaid on the LCS interface to provide preview graphics while using the physical output of XPression for program – allowing a single channel XPression system to do the job.

In fact, the solution can even use an all-virtual XPression system, XPression Live CG for highly budget conscious assemblies. The virtual output is sent to the MediaStores on the Ross Carbonite Production Switcher and displayed as an image.

Whether a customer uses a dual-channel, single-channel or virtual channel XPression system the graphics are all always updated so that few templates are used while receiving dynamic information. These options ensure that Ross has a solution for any size of legislative broadcast.
