Ross Video Unveils XPression Maps 2.0 at NAB

Monday, April 18th, 2016 [Las Vegas, Nevada] – Ross Video is showing XPression Maps 2.0 at NAB 2016. The next generation broadcast maps solution underwent a major overhaul with a number of new features and functionality.

Sporting a brand new user interface that resembles the flagship XPression Studio product, XPression Maps is now also 64-bit native. “With the access to additional memory provided by the move to 64-bit, XPression Maps is faster than ever,” said Patrick Twomey, Marketing Product Manger – Technical for XPression. “I also think that customers will love the new UI. It’s even more intuitive and pleasing to the eye.”

Other improvements include integration with OpenStreetMaps for even more granular control of the look and feel of maps, along with the ability to render still images of maps, in addition to flights (animations).

XPression Maps is available as a turn-key workstation for artists and also in a client/server configuration to allow “self-serve” map creation by journalist within a pre-defined template workflow.

“XPression Maps is really powerful as an artist’s tool, but the real magic happens when reporters and producers can build their own maps without ever leaving the newsroom computer system environment,” said Brian Olson, Director of Marketing Product Management for XPression. “Maps is just another option inside of the XPression MOS Plug-in, so the user experience is very integrated.”
