Ross Video’s Carbonite eXtreme Wins 2013 Pick Hit Awards at NAB

Wednesday, April 25, 2013 [Iroquois, Ontario, Canada] – Ross Video’s Carbonite eXtreme was the recipient of Broadcast Engineering’s 2013 Broadcast Engineering Pick Hit Award at NAB in Las Vegas.

Carbonite eXtreme is a combination of production switching with signal routing and distribution in the same chassis. The secret to Carbonite eXtreme is that the production switcher is embedded in the heart of the routing matrix.

“Routing, production switching, multi-viewers, up/down conversion, frame syncing and interconnecting distribution were traditionally all separate pieces,” said David Ross, CEO, Ross Video. “With Carbonite eXtreme, we have combined all these into a powerful combined package.”

Up to two Carbonite Production Matrices can be added to the Carbonite eXtreme Chassis providing two independent production systems in one. At the same time, Carbonite eXtreme fulfills the roll of a facility router with a full 144 x 144 switching matrix that can feed your entire production plant or mobile truck.

The prestigious Pick Hit Awards are selected by a panel of independent judges who tour the convention floor looking for innovative products and technology. The winners are based on criteria such as technical and financial improvements the product can bring to a facility’s operation. Broadcast Engineering editors and publishers have no vote in the selection process, ensuring the winners truly represent outstanding achievements in the eyes of a group of people who are representative of those making TV happen.
