Vision Production Switcher Enhancements for IBC

Thursday, September 12, 2013 [Iroquois, ON, Canada] – Listening to users is something we do well at Ross Video and our Vision Production Switchers are steadily evolving thanks to our customer’s comments. At IBC 2013 we will introduce redesigned control panel modules for the Vision Octane 3G, Octane and Tritium models that have smaller ‘Euro’ style control buttons. Still retaining the Ross invented RGB PanelGlow that other manufacturers are now following; the smaller buttons provide the same quality of operational ‘feel’ while maximizing useable panel space comfortably.

“Many of our European customers have commented on the button size we had selected for our control modules, particularly those migrating from other manufacturers switchers,” said Nigel Spratling, Switcher Business Development Manager, Ross Video. “While redesigning the panel modules was not a trivial task, it does make the control surface more appealing to many Vision operators”.

We have also received requests for ‘Soft’ panels from a number of users, particularly for use as secondary panels or emergency backup. IBC will see the introduction of our new Vision DashBoard Control Panel, running under our now ubiquitous DashBoard PC, MAC or Linux control system. This new application provides Vision production switcher control via touchscreen or keyboard and mouse.

“Soft control panels for big switchers is unheard of, traditional backup or secondary panels require the purchase of additional hardware,” stated Spratling. “Vision DashBoard Control Panel is not only ideally suited for the task, but is also a unique addition that is totally free to our customers.”

These Vision enhancements will be displayed at IBC 2013, Stand 9.C10.
