Orchard Hill Church Upgrades Master Control Room with Carbonite Ultra, XPression, and Ultrix

Orchard Hill Church, located in the Pittsburgh, PA area, recently completed a $1.3M renovation of their main worship center, including control rooms, camera systems, audio, networks, and more. It was a major undertaking – the entire facility was stripped down to its bare walls and completely rebuilt from the ground up.

The worship center was originally built in 1997, and while it had been upgraded a few times since, the staff felt that it was time for a full refresh. As part of that refresh, the master control room was completely renovated and upgraded with Ross gear.

Carbonite Ultra was chosen as the control room’s main production switcher, and the XPression real-time motion graphics system was added as well. To tie everything together, the Ultrix 12G router was selected to handle all video routing in the newly renovated equipment room located next door.

Orchard Hill Church machine roomKey Code Media provided equipment and systems integration services for the renovation. They ran over 30,000 feet of Ethernet, Cat, Coaxial, and SMPTE fiber cables, and installed and connected over 900 pieces of audiovisual and broadcast equipment into a cohesive network.
